Once you have used Outlook for a while it will ask you if you want to "AutoArchive".
If you answer "yes" Outlook will archive it but you won't see the archive.
Therefore it is better to say "No" and "Don't show again" to the prompt that Outlook
gives you. However that does not mean that you should not archive your emails.
Regardless of whether you use Exchange, POP, IMAP or HTTP there comes a time when
you should archive. There are two main reasons for archiving: speed and data
integrity. If your mailbox contains a large amount of data Outlook has to work
hard as you navigate through it let alone just open it. If your mailbox get's too big
(more than 2GB for Outlook 2003 or prior) you may not even be able to open outlook.
There are some utilities available out on the internet that will truncate the file and
allow you to open the file again but you will loose some data. So Archive!
Typically you want to choose a method of archiving, by date, by sender, etc. For demonstration
purposes by date is shown here.
